Robert S. Turner

Bob Turner (he/him/his) is an American Baptist minister who has served in a wide variety of capacities in his 25+ year career. Campus minister, associate pastor, interim pastor, senior pastor, human rights lobbyist, social services coordinator are all titles he has worn. He is the founder and president of 808Turner Enterprises, a company that provides creative projects for progressive churches, such as communications helps, liturgical content, and resources for spiritual formation.

Turner is the author of the nonfiction work Our Father Who Aren’t in Heaven: Subversive Reflections on the Lord’s Prayer (Wipf and Stock, 2015), and many of the ideas in A Rope for Judas can be found in this earlier book as well. With his wife, Sarah Councell Turner, he produces seasonal devotional books for Advent and Lent. Turner also maintains a blog, The Hopeful Curmudgeon.

A native of southern Illinois, Turner is a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He also supports the Ohio State Buckeyes and Columbus Blue Jackets in his adopted hometown. Turner has lived in Columbus with Sarah since 2015. He has two adult daughters, Natalie and Rachel.
